Sarah Romanowsky

Sarah Romanowsky will be back in August, teaching workshops on four different apparatuses.
She is a versatile artist, blending her background in dance with her technical & artistic approach to aerial hammock, rope, silks & hoop. She has been seen in the air for TV projects such a Nickelodeon‘s Kids Choice Awards, Disney‘s Shake it Up, New Red Bull editions campaign & Chevy‘s Super Bowl ad featuring the cast of Glee. Stage productions include Radio City Music Hall‘s Spring Spectacular, Cirque du Soleil‘s Amanzi, Fantasy at Luxor, Ultra Music Festival, Grammys & Emmys. Sarah has been fortunate to share her passion on stages Internationally, including productions in Indonesia, Dominican Republic, Antigua, Ecuador, Panama, Mexico, France & Singapore. She specializes in strong, dynamic, musically-driven aerial choreography and thrives on sharing her art with audiences and students alike!

Sarah will teach the following workshops:

SILKS: CONNECTING TRICKS & DROPS
Many silks aerialists get addicted to the immense satisfaction of linking two or three (or more!) moves they never thought could connect before. In this workshop, we will play with marrying moves to one another in fun and unexpected ways, also adding optional spins! Come prepared to learn new material & develop sequences with unique entrances, exits and transitions.
Students should be able to easily climb, footlock, invert, and hip key in the air as well as have ability to safely execute some smaller drops and rolls.

HOOP: Drops & SEQUENCES
This workshop is ideal for students looking to get more comfortable with drops on hoop while utilizing them in choreography. Do not be intimidated if drops aren‘t your thing! We will start small & work towards up towards whatever level you wish. We will have easier & harder versions of drops as well as spotting whenever possible. Come learn fun moves & transitions to build sequences for your next routine!

Level
Students should already be familiar with Lyra technique, and able to invert, pullover & single leg hang.

ROPE: TRICKS & TRANSITIONS
This workshop is geared towards intermediate rope students or students who are proficient in another apparatuses such as silks & want to expand into rope work. We will work on dynamic tricks, new ways of wrapping into moves, and sequences to develop flow & fluidity on rope. Come prepared to refine technique & build strength!

Level
Students can be at an Intermediate or above level or rope or silks & able to safely & consistently climb, invert, footlock & hip key in the air.

HAMMOCK: SPINS & DROPS
Spins & drops are some of the most fun aerial elements to watch & perform! In this workshop, we will cover sequences & choreography with unique movement, dynamic tricks, balance, strength & rotation. We will work with the hammock in both closed & open positions. Come prepared to learn & refine a lot of material & have fun!

Level
Students should be at an intermediate or above level on any aerial apparatus & able to safely invert & mount hammock.
