Emily Aoibheann will be visiting us for the first time in March, 2019. Here is a short describtion of Emily describing herself and her work:
I am a visual and aerial dance artist, teacher and director based in Dublin, Ireland. My work integrates
aerial movement and dance, music, sculpture, design, direction, production, fabrication and education. I am an independent artist with a growing reputation and an increasingly ambitious framework of skill, producing significant original performance and other types of work. My artistic career began with writing and dance, and as a musician and academic with particular interest in live, conceptual performance. My current work explores dynamic sculpture and scenographic movement. I am owner, founder and head tutor of Creation Aerial performance and aerial dance studio, with a full-time studio space operating in
Cabra, Dublin. I offer recreational classes as well as semi-professional and professional training, artist
residencies and intensive creative training for Irish and International aerial, dance and circus artists
specialising in a variety of disciplines. I am co-founder and co-director of Cat’s Paw Experimental Aerial
Dance Meeting, the first one which took place in Kosice, Slovakia from the 2nd – 6th January 2019.
Emily will be teaching silks & rope, hoop, trapeze and an aerial movement workshop on multiple apparatuses.
